Our Programs

The Foundation activities currently focus on two areas:

Remote Tutoring and Mentoring (RTM):  Using a web-based, interactive whiteboard and audio connection, RTM allows students and volunteers the flexibility of connecting from two separate locations, using existing equipment, for tutoring sessions.  In addition, remote tutors participate in periodic, in-person STEM discussions with the entire classroom to reinforce math and science concepts from their current curriculum.  This combination of on-line tutoring/mentoring and career focused, in-class visits, supports WTSF goals of finding innovative ways to bring science/technology to life for students.

Mental Boot Camp: An intensive, one-week summer program focused on accelerating the learning of some of the San Francisco Peninsula’s high potential young minds. It is directed at rising 6 -12th graders (we will be willing to make exceptions for particularly mature rising 5th graders) who demonstrate the motivation and ability to deepen their understanding of math, science and engineering.
